Meet Isaac Mahoney

I am a classically trained violinist with over 15 years of experience playing with a variety of ensembles across many genres! Most notably, I have played with the Fort Wayne Youth Symphony with side by side performances with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, as well as a 4 year tenure with the Ball State Symphony Orchestra. I am available for hire as an individual event violinist. Events can range from weddings and funerals to wine tastings and small dinner parties.

As a teacher, I strive to influence young students with the same fun and excitement I got from the violin as a young student, while also challenging them to play outside of their comfort zone to grow as a musician. If there is music that student wants to play, I will go above and beyond to get them to a point where they can play it.
I teach lessons in person, as well as virtually as needed.

I have a degree from Ball State with minors in Music Performance on the Violin as well as Music Theory and Composition.
About my Services
I teach violin lessons to students of all ages and playing levels in the Greater Fort Wayne area. I typically start beginners with weekly 30 minute lessons, with an early emphasis on basic technique and posture. More advanced students would be encouraged to have weekly hour long lessons. I follow the Suzuki method books traditionally, but incorporate other method books and pieces as I see fit for any particular student.

As for events, I am willing to travel a reasonable distance for weddings and other playing opportunities that you may have. I have a wide repertoire of traditional wedding, funeral, and dinner music. That being said, I am incredibly flexible and can find a way to play anything you have in mind to make you event special.

Isaac played for our wedding about 4 years ago and did an amazing job! We picked a few complicated songs but he learned them and performed them perfectly.
